Director R.Raghuraj who gave hits in Kannada, directing a film in Tamil titled 'Appavi'. Gautham & Suhani in the lead. Director Cum Actor K.Bagyaraj plays an important role. Movie is mainly based on the anti-social elements and how the country is moving in favor of all these evil acts. Our hero is affected by the social element and he goes to take revenge on the anti social elements thereby cleaning the society. Director Raghuraj has handled the context of revenge in an extricted way and the complete portrayal would be different.
Speaking on the role played by filmmaker K.Bagyaraj, Director Raghuraj says,"He plays the role of a social reformer who trains under privileged children from the villages to become service personnel in the Indian Government.".
Unit of Appavi recently had a press meet. In the event, Director R Raghuraj said, “Its Tamil cinema’s first trilogy, I am going to make three films on the themes of red, white and green. Appavi is the first with the red theme. I cannot disclose more at this stage since it will be giving away too much”. Confident about his story and message he has cast newcomer Gautham as hero, a second year BBA student of Loyola College in Chennai, who was chosen within seven days. “I wanted a boy who looks like a common man with no big image and who could be one among the audience so that they would identify with the message he is conveying through the powerful dialogues in the film,” says Raghuraj.
Suhani plays a college girl and has done four Telugu films before making her debut in Tamil. Raghuraj concluded by saying: “The movie will sow seeds of revolutionary thinking and send a strong message in our society”. The longest ever Indian flag, 1115 feet has been made for a patriotic song 'Edu Edu..' written by Vairamuthu was picturised on the Kovalam beach near chennai with 500 college students. Shooting for this song alone took 5 days. Shooting for the film took place at Chennai and followed at various locations like Rameswaram,Trichy,Kanyakumari and Kovalam. Song Visuals were shot in exotic locations in India itself.
