A new film production house named ‘The Imprints’ is planning to make its first film in Tamil named ‘Jayakumarin Thiraikkathai’.
'The Imprints' is headed by producers Aravind Venugopal and Govind Padmasoorya who have already produced a Malayalam movie Atayalangal that won five Kerala State awards last year.
‘Jayakumarin Thiraikkathai’ is written and directed by Sarath Haridasan with actor Nandaa in the lead. Bombay-based Madhvi Singh and Tirrtha are the lead heroines, and both are graduates in Acting from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. Supporting cast includes Neeraj Sankar, John Kokken and Megh Varn.
‘The Imprints’ is planning 80 days shoot schedule for ‘Jayakumarin Thiraikkathai’ starting by September 2009. The movie will be shot on locations in Chennai, Pollachi, Kerala and in the Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. In ‘Jayakumarin Thiraikkathai,’ a 'masala' story writer meets his real-life Hero of the story he is writing. And the Hero changes the life of the writer forever. Nandaa is donning the role of the Hero. A lot of fresh talents are being introduced to Tamil cinema, through this movie. The crew has a lot of fresh faces to Tamil moviedom.
Director Sarath Haridasan has co-scripted Anandapurathu Veedu directed by Naga and produced by Director Shankar's S.Pictures. He has also directed many national and international advertisements. ‘Jayakumarin Thiraikkathai’ is his first feature film directorial venture. M.Karthik, who is making his debut in Tamil Cinema as the music director for ‘Jayakumarin Thiraikkathai’ has already composed music for two Telugu films - U & I and Vidhuyadu produced by Prem Movies. Newcomer Mu.Ramesh is penning the lyrics.
Subbaiah Kuttappa , an FTII, Pune graduate, who assisted the veteran cinematographer Binod Pradhan in many films including Devdas, Munna Bhai MBBS, and Rang de Basanti is the cinematographer for the movie. ‘Jayakumarin Thiraikkathai’ is his debut movie in Tamil. Purushotham Prem,, who was assisting ace Art Director Rajeevan, makes his debut through ‘Jayakumarin Thiraikkathai’as the art director, and T S Jayachandran who has assisted the veteran editor V T Vijayan for many years debuts as the Editor.
Dance Choreography is done by Saravana Rajan and stunt choreography by T.Ramesh. R Gunasekaran is the production controller and Nikil is the P.R.O for ‘Jayakumarin Thiraikkathai.’
