Review:

Going by today’s trend the story opens in a village near Madurai and it also has four vagabonds from the lower caste. Pandi (Harish), Manga(Alex), Onan (Gopal) and Mari(Lokesh) are the mischief mongers who is uncontrollable by anybody.

The director is done justice to the title in patches. He has thought differently in few scenes. But it only in few scenes only. Just a mini songs and high speed shots will not make a scene different. Hopefully the director should have known by now.

The mischief and tantrum of this gang pits them directly against the upper caste village chieftain and his family. Any way why is the chieftain wife is so loud. When we thought the movie will traverse a new path and show the caste rift in a new light the director has adamantly thought not to be different. The story meanders in the second half in the city as these guys run away to safe their life.

Here they come across the Shammu the lead girl. Pandi saves her from her pimp uncle, the role well portayed by Ravi Maria. They run for the life chased by the pimp uncle and his men. On the course of the run they kill few and Ravi Mariya also falls for the bullet at one stage.

These guys who were struggling for hundreds made to do crime to rake in lakhs to fund Shammu’s education abroad. How differently the director has conceived this idea?. A plan to kidnap of local Dada’s daughter push them deep into trouble. Pon vannan comes as a saviour to these gang finally asking them to kill the Dada in exchange for their freedom as he had lost his wife because of the dada. What a way to go, Director?

The story is dragging in the second half and make you uncomfortable in the seat.

Shammu role is very badly etched. She asking the guys to do celebrate the dada girl attaining puberty is too different to core.

The technicians have done their part quite decently . Editing by Kola Bhaskar, Cinemetography by Vijay Armstrong and stunt choreography by Speed Syed are worth mentioning. Music Director Guru Kalyan fails to hit the chord.

The director finishes the movie highlighting the cast divide and rift but conveniently forgets this issue in the second half of the narration.

Another Attempt by Nandha Periyasamy
