Actor Bhanuchandar who has worked in numerous number of films in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada launches his son Jayanth in Kollywood with this film directed by a debut director Stephen. Stepher earlier worked with director A.Venkatesh. Srinidhi from Kerala makes her debut as the heroine. Chandra from the Kootu-Pattarai acting school plays an important role. Stunt Master Selvam makes his on-screen presence with this film. Bobby scores the music.
Speaking on the film Director Stephen says,"The story is based on a real life incident, something that one of my friends went through. The film would have a realistic touch to it. About the title,"The 16th day of Margazhi month corresponds with December 31st which marks an important day in the hero's life."
